In a society shaped by mass production, the virtue of handmade clothing
seems to be lost. However, industrial production is facing several
problems, not only with respect to environmental pollution, caused
inherently by the production process, but also on an aesthetic level,
since mass-produced clothing fits less and less the increasingly
individualized fashion tastes of modern customers. In the project
ArtWear the artist reappropriates the production process by hand-making
every piece of clothing and equipping it with unique handpainted
drawing, transforming materials
into unique fashion garments, wearable in daily life. Designing the
clothing and the drawings individually does not only reduce the
environmental impact of the created pieces to a minimal level, but also
allows to take special care of the design of every single item. The
artist carefully composes every piece individually with drawings,
creating artworks that diversify the face of the public.
